DFC in the Community Trust are delighted to announce our project ‘Your Dee Future’ which is a soft start/introduction to the employability programmes being offered by Dundee City Council and the Job Centre. The programme which is funded by Dundee City Council and supported by many partners across the City will start on Wednesday 12 February 1pm-3pm. It’s aimed at men over the age of 25 who are unemployed and living in Dundee. Along with a workshop, participants will also enjoy the sports and wellbeing part of the project supported by our Community coaches.

This project is being supported by many partners including; Coldside Adult learning team, Coldside Medical Practice, Community Police, Dundee & Angus College, Fire and Rescue Service, Growth mindset, Job Centre, TCA, Wellbeing Works, plus many more to be announced!

-The programme will run for 8 weeks, for men who are in long term unemployment (4 weeks or more) and 25years of age or over.

-The venue is Dens Park Stadium and sports a facility within the City.

-Participants will complete ‘two halves’, first half 45min educational workshop with our partners and the second half will be a game of football with a DFC Community coach.

We hope the workshops will result in the participants having increased knowledge and confidence to support them in their future choices, whilst staying physically and mentally fit with our sports programme.

Referrals are made through the job centre and won’t affect benefits.

Community Manager Greg Fenton “We are delighted to announce this extremely exciting project that connects with men who are unemployed. Football clubs are a massive part of the local community, and we are using the brand of Dundee Football Club to help men learn new skills whilst enjoying a game of football. We at Dundee FC Community Trust are committed to helping transform lives in our community. Our new programme enables personal development, social inclusion and community integration. We are grateful to Dundee City Council for providing the grant to fund this programme which will last for 8weeks and to our partners who will deliver the workshops, working together we are providing for our community.”
