Girls Youth Pathway Launched

Dundee FC Community Trust is excited to announce details of its Girls Youth Pathway, a milestone for the Community Trust & Club, as we look to influence the female game within the city. Developing our female pathway is at the forefront of our strategy for the Trust, which has seen an excellent turnout of our Women’s Recreational Football that we have offered, and we are delighted to announce plans for our Girls Pathway, starting 23 November 2022 at the Regional Performance Centre. Dundee FC Girls Pathway will be aimed at ages U10 & U8’s, with the Trust committed to free training for all U10s initially. Training sessions that are held twice a week will be led by Dundee FC Academy coaches at the state-of-the-art facilities of our own Dundee FC Training Facility, Gardyne Campus and indoor at the Regional Performance Centre (RPC).

While many, would like a full-scale pathway and first team set-up immediately, for now we will be focusing on developing two teams that are coached well and led in a manner worthy of Dundee FC. With this in mind, we will not be looking to take players from other teams through trials but will allow a new venture for players without teams.

Dundee FC Community Trust Chief Executive Greg Fenton is excited to announce these plans, “Today’s announcement showcases our drive and determination to succeed in the women’s game. Staff within the Trust have worked hard to get to this point in recent weeks, with our ambitious target set out in our strategic plan to have a girl’s pathway and a Dundee FC women’s first team. Not only will the Trust have teams, but we will be organising festivals and partnering with the Her Game Too Movement. The Trust and Club are committed to growing the campaign of Her Game Too, with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally. Dundee FC and The Community Trust have first-class facilities across the city that we can utilise, and we remain steadfast in our commitment in developing the game for all.”
