In partnership with Alzheimer Scotland, our Football Memories programme delivers support to those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. The group provides interactive sessions relating to all things football with guest speakers, group discussions and the much-loved ‘Guess the Year’ quiz.
Importantly, we create a safe space to provide emotional support for individuals and their families. By bringing together people facing similar challenges it gives opportunities to share experiences, strategies and gives opportunities for further support through Alzheimer’s Scotland.
Testimonial
“My dad, 90, a lifelong Dundee FC supporter, has recently started attending the Football Memories group. Over the past few years dementia and Alzheimer’s has robbed him of so many things. Some days are good, some days are extremely difficult.
Attending this group has not only been beneficial for my dad, it is a lifeline for my mum knowing he is safe and happy during his time there, and giving her a short break.
The impact on the community goes far beyond the attendees, it impacts whole families. Thank you.” – Claire
We currently run the first Wednesday of each month from 2pm-3:30pm. If you would like to attend please get in touch with [email protected]
We also deliver football memory sessions to supporters groups, care homes and other local partners. To register interest for a session click here and one of our team will be in touch.
