We are delighted to announce that Biffa have recently become a Community Partner for Dundee Football Club! Biffa have sponsored our phenomenal ‘Cammy Kerr Afterschool Programme’ that facilitates up to 600 local children for a free hour of football coaching each week. This benefits their physical and mental health and gives every child in the city of Dundee an opportunity to play football for free!
The programme is named after a player who has been through a similar programme when he was a youngster, who trained his way to play professionally for Dundee FC. Cammy Kerr says, “I’m firstly honoured and massively proud to have a soccer school in my name. I’m delighted that the school gives every child free football coaching throughout the city and beyond, especially when the times we have had in the last 18 months have been the hardest of recent generations. I hope every child enjoys their every session and plays football with a smile on their face.”
This is just the start of the partnership as Kelly Lock, Commercial Lead for BIFFA across Scotland & Northern Ireland said “This is a great opportunity for BIFFA Wate Services to assist the community which we serve, we are delighted to be involved in such a project. We also look forward to our local depot teams offering further local support to this project where we can.”
Cammy Kerr will actively involved in the programme and has organised visits to the local schools involved to give talks on the lessons that can be learned from sport.
Trust Manager Greg Fenton said, “We are delighted and grateful that Biffa has agreed to sponsor our after-school football programme which is popular across Dundee and Fife. This means we can achieve our objectives of keeping the programme free of charge which removes a barrier to participation. Children attending will learn new skills and techniques, whilst having fun and making new friends in a safe environment.”
We will provide updates through videos and pictures as the programme grows and develops!
