Dundee Football Club Community Trust is delighted to announce the full details of our plan to develop women’s football in the City of Dundee. In the strategic review we published earlier this year, we stated it’s our aim to have a Dundee FC Women’s Team. We aim to fight for social change and strive for social inclusion, and within two years, the Trust will have a girls’ academy, which, in turn, will become Dundee FC Women’s team.
Our ambition will be the catalyst of change, delivering social justice for all in the City of Dundee. Starting in August 2022, we will be expanding our recreational football for those who want to keep fit and enjoy the game. Within the next month, classes for girls will begin for primary schools, with more advanced training for excelling players by the end of the year. Within 12 months, the Trust will appoint a girls’ Development Officer with their sole focus on developing the women’s game and managing the girls’ academy.
Dundee FC Girls Academy
We aim to create the best footballing regional talent academy in Scotland, producing players of international standard by playing football the Dundee Way. We have an extensive pathway working with players as young as eight years of age and a curriculum that becomes progressively more demanding as players are advancing through the Academy.
Dundee FC Girls’ Academy provides a platform for young girls to enjoy the game and grow in confidence and reaps the benefits of an extensive network at Dundee FC and access to top training facilities, coaching staff and support staff.
