Dundee Football Club Community Trust are delighted to announce the full details of our plan to develop women’s football in the City of Dundee. In the strategic review we published earlier this year, we stated it’s our aim to have a Dundee FC Women’s Team. We aim to fight for social change and strive for social inclusion and, within two years, the Trust will have a girls’ academy which, in turn, will become Dundee FC Women’s team.
Our ambition will be the catalyst of change, delivering social justice for all in the City of Dundee. Starting in August 2022, we will be expanding our recreational football for those who want to keep fit and enjoy the game. Within the next month, classes for girls will begin for primary schools, with more advanced training for excelling players by the end of the year. Within 12 months, the Trust will appoint a girls’ Development Officer with their sole focus on developing the women’s game and managing the girls’ academy.
A statement from our Chief Executive Greg Fenton:
“We have achieved a milestone in developing the plan for our female football and are delighted to share details of our strategic plan. For those players who want to spend time with their friends and play football, we have commenced our recreational football. But for those aspiring to be professional football players, it is important they have a clear pathway to progress. It’s exciting to publish the details and in time, hire the right personnel to take the sport of football to the next level.”
Starting the 24 August, the Trust welcome all women who are 16 years and over to come and play football at the Clubs new training facility. For more information please email [email protected]
